About Jerome

Jerome Shaw is a photographer and writer and has taught photo workshops for over 10 years.  He saw the possibilities for utilizing Twitter to connect with others in his profession and to bring more visibility to his products and services.

“I looked at Twitter in early 2008 and thought ‘this is useless -no one cares about what I am doing.’  I took another look early this year and finally saw how Twitter could be useful as a tool to optimize my online presence. In January 2009 Jerome had one travel writer colleague as a follower and 7 tweets.  He now has over 15,000 followers and publishes hundreds of tweets per month.  He has had an online presence to 10+ years and has used social marketing sites from MySpace to Facebook and beyond.  Jerome is consistently ranked as one of the top tweeters in Denver and in Colorado by TwitterGrader and has reached as high as 551 nationally. He was recently contacted via Twitter to teach an international photography workshop in Cuba in January 2010. This job originated on Twitter and was proffered on Facebook, all before the telephone or email were ever employed.
