Join us for this hands-on workshop designed to give you all the Twitter basics you need to take you from novice to tweeter in just 3 hours. You will learn not only how to tweet but what to tweet and why.

By The Time This Class Is Over You Will Have:

• Set up a Twitter account that will bring you valuable followers

• Selected a user name and uploaded a photo

• Written your bio/profile and understand its significance

• Followed over 20 people and know how to select more

• Participated in a live Twitter conversation

• Learned Twitter lingo and etiquette

• Discovered how to search for specific people and topics

• Answers to all your Twitter questions.

This is a participatory activity-driven workshop designed to get you tweeting by the end of the afternoon. You will set up your account, choose a username, upload a photo, write a bio, select people to follow, have a conversation and send direct messages.

You will learn all about tweeting and retweeting, @messages, direct messages (DM), what is private on Twitter and what is public, how to select people to follow, and start building your network.

We will define some of the terms and symbols involved in Twitter explaining hashtags, follow Friday, trending and other Twitter lingo

What Will You Need to Bring?

You will need to bring your own wifi ready laptop.

Also recommended: Bring a few photos of yourself, approximate size 400 x 600 pixels (email sized).
